About

I am a Ph.D. student in Gerontology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. I recently completed a master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Development at the University of Pennsylvania, following my earlier training in Child Development and Family Studies at Seoul National University and Kyunghee University in Korea.
My research explores social factors affecting cognitive aging, dyadic approaches to health, and racial and ethnic disparities in later life. Recently, I worked as a Research Associate at the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin, where I conducted research examining how social relationships impact cognitive health in middle and later adulthood, utilizing data from the Health and Retirement Study (HRS).
As a gerontologist, my research aims to identify effective ways to enhance cognitive health and well-being in later life by promoting meaningful social engagement and supportive interpersonal relationships among older adults.
